Reaction Steps

To a solution of (RS)-tert-butyl 4-[(4-chlorobenzenesulfonyl)-(2,5-difluorophenyl)-methyl]-piperidine-1-carboxylate (0.75 g, 1.5 mmol) in dichloromethane (5 ml) was added trifluoroacetic acid (5 ml) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes. The mixture was washed with sodium hydroxide solution (1N, 5 ml), water (5 ml), dried (MgSO4) and evaporated under reduced pressure to yield (RS)-4-[(4-chlorobenzenesulfonyl)-(2,5-difluorophenyl)methyl]-piperidine as a white solid (0.5 g, 83%).
