A solution of N-(2-ethoxymethyl-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]quinolin-1-yl)(3-methylbutylidene)amine (1.28 g, 4.13 mmol) in 25 mL of methanol was treated with NaBH4 (0.47 g, 12.39 mmol).
