Versuchsvorschrift

15.4 g of 2-ethoxy-3-[1-(2-chlorophenyl)-1-cyclopropyl]-acrylic acid ethyl ester in 350 ml of 1 M sodium hydroxide solution (ethanol-water 2:1) is stirred for 24 hours at room temperature. Solvent is distilled off, residue is distributed between water and diethyl ether, water solution is acidified with 2N hydrochloric acid, and extracted with diethyl ether. After the organic phase is washed with water, dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated by evaporation, 11.2 g of the product is obtained.
