Procedure
15 parts of 2-methyl-3-(4-bromophenyl)-propyl chloride and 28 parts of cis-2,6-dimethylmorpholine were stirred at 150° C. for 8 hours. The reaction mixture was cooled, poured into 100 parts of water, brought to pH 9-10 with saturated aqueous Na2CO3 solution and extracted with methylene chloride. The organic phase was dried and concentrated and the residue was distilled to give, at a boiling point of 100°-102° C./0.01 mbar, 15.8 parts of 4-[3-(4-bromophenyl)-2-methylpropyl]-cis-2,6-dimethylmorpholine of nD22 1.5265.
