A solution of 8.54 g (20 mmoles) of 1-[4-(2-azidoethoxy)-phenyl]-1-phenyl-3,3,3-trifluoro-2-(4-fluorophenyl)propene, prepared as described in Example 15, in 170 ml of methanol is hydrogenated for about one hour in the presence of 0.9 g of a 5% palladium-on-carbon catalyst. The solution is evaporated and the product is crystallized from hexane. 4.51 g (56.4%) of the title compound are obtained; m.p.: 83°-89° C.
