Procedure
The sulfonyl chloride intermediate prepared in Step C above (15.3 g., 0.049 mol) was allowed to react with concentrated ammonia (150 ml) at room temperature for 10 minutes. On filtration there was obtained 8.75 g. of sulfonamide intermediate, m.p. 165°-167° C. Recrystallization from tetrahydrofuran-ether-petroleum ether gave m.p. 168°-170° C. Anal. Calc'd. for C10H8Cl2N2O2S2 : % C, 37.16; % H, 2.49; % N, 8.67. Found: % C, 37.13; % H, 2.36; % N, 8.36.
