3-(2-Fluoro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-4-isopropyloxazolidine-2,5-dione is reacted with phenol using the procedure of Example 75 to give the phenyl ester of N-(2-fluoro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl)valine, which is reacted with NaHS using the method of Hirakayaski et al., Bull. Chem. Soc. Japan 38, 320 (1965) to give the sodium salt of the thioacid. ##STR27##
