Procedure
A process for producing 2,3,5-trichloropyridine, which process comprises causing trichloroacetaldehyde to undergo an addition reaction, in the presence of a catalyst, with acrylonitrile, and cyclising the formed 2,4,4-trichloro-4-formylbutyronitrile of the formula I ##STR2## with the splitting-off of water, to give 2,3,5-trichloropyridine.
