To a stirred solution of 28.8 parts of (±)-2-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-N-(2-naphthyl)glycine in 640 parts of ether is added a solution of 10 parts of (+)-α-methylbenzylamine in 80 parts of ether at room temperature. The precipitated product is filtered off and recrystallized three times from acetonitrile, yielding 11.9 parts of (+)-2-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-N-(2-naphthyl)glycine (+) α-methylbenzylamine salt; mp. 151°-153° C.; αD20 +159.5° (5% in chloroform)
