Participants
| Role | Name | HCID | Charge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reactant | Acetic Acid | HCID 176 | — |
| Reactant | 5-(Aminomethyl)-3-(butylamino)-2-phenoxybenzene-1-sulfonamide | HCID 54039296 | — |
| Solvent | Acetic Anhydride | HCID 7918 | — |
| Product | N-(3-n-Butylamino-4-phenoxy-5-sulfamylbenzyl)acetamide | HCID 53985487 | — |
Reaction Steps
To a solution of 3-n-butylamino-4-phenoxy-5-sulfamylbenzylamine (1.05 g; prepared as described in Example 289) in acetic acid (10 ml), acetic anhydride (0.4 ml) is added and the mixture is left for 24 hours. Dilution with water (25 ml) precipitates N-(3-n-butylamino-4-phenoxy-5-sulfamylbenzyl)acetamide, which is collected by filtration, washed with water and dried in air. After recrystallization from aqueous ethanol it is obtained with a melting point of 190°-191° C.
