Procedure

Boc-Pro-Gln-Gly-OBzl (4.0g, 8.2 m mol) was dissolved in 90% methanol (60 ml), and hydrogen gas was passed through the solution in the presence of a spoonful of Pd-C for 6 hours. After removing the catalyst by filtration, the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was solidified by the addition of ether and recrystallized from methanol-ether.
