Reaction Steps
A mixture of 2-cyanobenzoxazole, a catalytic amount of K2CO3, and 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-ol in 2-butanone was refluxed for 10 hours. After the precipitate was filtered and heated with aqueous HCl for 2 hours, product I was obtained by filtration.
