Reaction Steps
To a stirred solution of the title compound of example 335 (318 mg, 0.50 mmol) in a mixture of methanol (5 mL) and THF (5 mL) was added sodium borohydride (38 mg, 1.0 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 hours before the addition of 1N hydrochloric acid (2 mL). After being stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes, 1N aqueous sodium hydroxide (4 mL) was added and the mixture was evaporated under reduced pressure. Water (15 mL) was added and extracted with dichloromethane (30 mL, 2×15 mL). The combined organic layers were dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered, and evaporated under reduced pressure. A mixture of ethanol and ethyl acetate was added to the residue, the resulting precipitate, was collected by filtration, washed with ethyl acetate and dried under reduced pressure to afford the title compound (280 mg, 0.44 mmol, yield 88%) as a white solid.
