Procedure
To a solution of ethyl 6-chloro-4-(4,6-dimethylpyridin-2-ylamino)pyridazine-3-carboxylate (165 mg, 538 μmol) in methanol (1 mL) was added ammonia in methanol (4.72 g, 6 mL, 42.0 mmol) and the mixture stirred at 50° C. for 16 h. The mixture was then concentrated in vacuo to give 6-chloro-4-(4,6-dimethylpyridin-2-ylamino)pyridazine-3-carboxamide (140 mg, 504 μmol, 94%) as a white solid. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d) δ ppm 11.92 (s, 1H), 9.13 (s, 1H), 8.86 (s, 1H), 8.21 (s, 1H), 6.84 (s, 1H), 6.76 (s, 1H), 2.45 (s, 3H), 2.29 (s, 3H); MS (EI/CI) m/z: 277.9 [M+H].
