Reaction Steps

To 4.0 g (9.6 mmol) [(3R,3aR,6S,6aS)-3-(5-fluoro-2-nitro-phenoxy)-2,3,3a,5,6,6a-hexahydrofuro[3,2-b]furan-6-yl]trifluoromethanesulfonate (intermediate III.3) in acetonitrile 1.1 g (28.8 mmol) sodium borohydride are added. The reaction mixture is stirred at RT for 10 days. The reaction mixture is evaporated, taken up in ice water, carefully acidified with aqueous 4 mol/l HCl and extracted with EtOAc. The organic phases are pooled, washed with water, dried and evaporated. The residue is purified by FC.
