4-(3,4-dihydroquinolin-1(2H)-ylsulfonyl)benzoic acid (1) (100 mg, 0.32 mmol) was treated with 5-methyl-4-phenylthiazol-2-amine (46 mg, 0.24 mmol) using method B. The residue was purified using flash chromatography eluting with 0-30% EtOAc in hexanes to give 4-(3,4-dihydroquinolin-1(2H)-ylsulfonyl)-N-(5-methyl-4-phenylthiazol-2-yl)benzamide as an off-white solid. Yield: 54 mg (46%). 1H-NMR: 8.19 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 2H), 7.74 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 7.68 (d, J=7.5 Hz, 2H), 7.61 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 1H) 7.50-7.34 (m, 3H), 7.24-7.08 (m, 3H), 3.84-3.78 (m, 2H), 2.52 (s, 3H), 2.45 (t, J=7.0 Hz, 2H), 1.66-1.57 (m, 2H).
