Reaction Steps
To a solution of 14.1 g (0.10 mol) of 4-fluoronitrobenzene in 200 mL of N,N-dimethyl formamide were added 20.73 (0.15 mol) of potassium carbonate and 10.1 g (0.10 mol) of 4-hydroxypiperidine and the mixture was stirred for 1 hour at 140° C. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and the mixture was treated with chloroform, then insoluble substances were removed off by filtration. The filtrate was condensed and the residue was recrystallized from ethanol to give 17.27 g (78%) of the title compound.
