To a solution of 1-(4-bromo-phenyl)-3-aza-bicyclo[3.1.0]hexane-3-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (Intermediate I, 3.5 g, 10.4 mmol) in toluene (20 mL) were added Pd2(dba)3 (47 mg, 0.05 mmol), BINAP (97 mg, 0.16 mmol), sodium tert-butoxide (2.0 g, 20.7 mmol) and benzyl amine (1.2 mL, 11.4 mmol). The resulting solution was refluxed for 4 h. After the completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was adsorbed on silica gel and purified by column chromatography (silica gel, 4:6 EtOAc:Pet. ether) to yield the title compound (3.0 g, 80%) as yellow solid.
