Reaction Steps

1 g of the compound from step c) is placed in a round-bottomed flask under a stream of nitrogen, and 10 ml of DMF and 0.3 ml of pyridine are added. 0.23 ml of methyl chloroformate is added at 0° C., and the mixture is stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. The resulting mixture is washed with water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phase is dried over Na2SO4, filtered and evaporated under vacuum. 30 ml of toluene are added and the resulting mixture is stirred at reflux for 4 hours. The solvent is evaporated off to give 0.8 g of the title compound.
