Reaction Steps
By a procedure similar to that of example 1.22.1, starting from commercial 4-methyl-1,2-phenylenediamine and 3-(4-chlorophenyl)glutaric anhydride, a 1:1-mixture of the regioisomers 7-methyl-3-phenyl-3,4-dihydropyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazol-1(2H)-one and 8-methyl-3-phenyl-3,4-dihydropyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazol-1(2H)-one was obtained.
