To a solution of methyl 2-chloro-3-(isopropyl(methyl)amino)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate (Scheme I, 150 mg, 0.51 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (3 mL) was added 2-(benzofuran-3-yl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane (312 mg, 1.28 mmol), K3PO4 (326 mg, 1.53 mmol), Pd(PPh3)4 (30 mg, 0.03 mmol) and water (3 drops). After stirring 40 min at 95° C. under nitrogen atmosphere, the reaction mixture was dissolved in water (10 mL), extracted with dichloromethane (3×30 mL), dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford a residue, which was purified by a silica gel column with 1% ethyl acetate in petroleum ether to afford methyl 2-(benzofuran-3-yl)-3-(isopropyl(methyl)amino)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate as a light yellow solid (110 mg, 57%).
