To a solution of 5-bromopyridin-3-ylboronic acid (288.0 mg, 1.43 mmol) in dioxane (5 mL) was added methyl 2-chloro-3-(isopropyl(methyl)amino)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate (Scheme I, 140.0 mg, 0.48 mmol), K3PO4 (302.0 mg, 1.43 mmol), Pd(PPh3)4 (27.6 mg, 0.02 mmol) and three drops water. The reaction mixture was stirred for 1 h at 90° C. with an inert atmosphere of nitrogen and then concentrated under vacuum to give a residue, which was purified by a silica gel column with 1% ethyl acetate in petroleum ether to afford methyl 2-(5-bromopyridin-3-yl)-3-(isopropyl(methyl)amino)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate (150.0 mg, 72%) as a light yellow solid.
