To a solution of (S)-methyl 3-(2-methylpyrrolidin-1-yl)-2-(trifluoromethylsulfonyloxy)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate (150 mg, 0.41 mmol) in dioxane (5.0 mL) and water (3 drops) was added (4-fluoro-2-methylphenyl)boronic acid (101 mg, 0.66 mmol), Pd(PPh3)4 (19.0 mg, 0.02 mmol), and K3PO4 (138.3 mg, 0.65 mmol). The reaction was stirred for 1 hour at 90° C. under a nitrogen atmosphere. The resulting solution was concentrated in vacuo, and then purified by silica gel column chromatography (1% ethyl acetate in petroleum ether) to provide (S)-methyl 2-(4-fluoro-2-methylphenyl)-3-(2-methylpyrrolidin-1-yl)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate as a yellow solid (120 mg, 78%).
