To a solution of N-methyl-N-phenyl-1H-imidazole-1-sulfonamide (700 mg, 2.95 mmol) in dry DCM (5 mL) was added methyl triflate (725 mg, 4.4 mmol) under nitrogen at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 3 h and at a temperature below 10° C. for 12 h. After the solvent was removed, the residue was used in next step without further purification. LCMS (ESI): m/z 237.9 [M+H+].
