Reaction Steps
7 g of rifaximin was dissolved in 100 ml of ethanol at 30-35° C. To this solution 0.7 g of β-cyclodextrin was added and stirred. The reaction mass was stirred, concentrated to dryness under vacuum at 30-35° C. and then dried completely at 30-35° C. for 24-30 hours to get 6.75 g rifaximin-β cyclodextrin complex.
