A mixture of sodium carbonate (5.79 g), tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) (0.631 g), 6-fluoropyridin-3-ylboronic acid (5 g) and 3-bromopyridin-2-amine (4.72 g) in DME (75 mL) and water (15 mL) was stirred at 80° C. overnight. The mixture was poured into water and extracted with EtOAc. The organic layer was separated, washed with brine, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by column chromatography (silica gel, eluted with EtOAc in hexane, then NH silica gel, eluted with EtOAc in hexane) to give the title compound (4.53 g) as a colorless solid.
