Procedure
To a solution of N-methoxy-N,1-dimethyl-8-oxo-1,4,5,6,7,8-hexahydrocyclohepta[c]pyrazole-3-carboxamide (14 mg, 0.055 mmol) in EtOH (1 mL), a solution of NaOH (2M, 55 μL) was added. The reaction was stirred under reflux for 1 h, the solvent was removed under vacuum, then DCM (5 mL) was added and the organic phase was washed with HCl 25% (3×5 mL). The aqueous phase was back-extracted with DCM (5 mL). The organic fractions were combined, dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated under vacuum to give 11 mg of a white solid (quantitative yield).
