Procedure

To a mixture of 4-t-butylbenzenesulfonyl chloride (0.084 g, 0.36 mmol) and 3-methyl-1-(quinazolin-4-yl)-1H-pyrazol-5-amine (0.067 g, 0.30 mmol) in pyridine (0.6 mL) was heated at 80° C. for 15 h with stirring. After cooling to room temperature, dichloromethane was added to the reaction mixture and washed with 1 M aqueous sodium hydrogen sulfate (1 mL). The aqueous layer was further extracted with dichloromethane (2×5 mL), and the combined organic layers were dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. The crude residue was purified by flash chromatography (SiO2, 5-60% ethyl acetate in hexanes) to give the title compound as a white solid (0.30 g, 0.071 mmol, 24%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 10.92 (s, 1H), 9.27 (dd, J=1.2, 8.8 Hz, 1H), 9.98 (s, 1H), 7.99 (dd, J=0.8, 8.4 Hz, 1H), 7.89 (ddd, J=1.2, 6.8, 8.4 Hz, 1H), 7.66-7.61 (m, 2H), 7.28-7.25 (m, 2H), 6.34 (s, 1H), 2.37 (s, 3H), 1.13 (s, 9H); MS: (ES) m/z calculated for C22H24F3N5O2S [M+H]+ 422.2. found 422.3.
