Procedure
A mixture of 4-t-butylbenzenesulfonyl chloride (0.10 g, 0.43 mmol) and 1-(isoquinolin-4-yl)-3-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5-amine (0.080 g, 0.36 mmol) in pyridine (5 mL) was heated at 80° C. for 15 h with stirring. After cooling to room temperature, the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo. The crude residue was purified by flash chromatography (SiO2, 50-100% ethyl acetate in hexanes) to give the title compound as a white solid (0.18 g, 0.12 mmol, 27%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 8.89 (s, 1H), 8.02 (s, 1H), 8.87 (dd, J=1.6, 6.8 Hz, 1H), 7.58-7.53 (m, 2H), 7.58 (s, 1H), 7.56 (s, 1H), 7.39-7.35 (m, 3H), 6.25 (s, 1H), 2.34 (s, 3H), 1.32 (s, 9H); MS: (ES) m/z calculated for C23H25N4O2S [M+H]+ 421.2. found 422.2.
