Procedure

Synthesized according to General Procedure C: 6{14} (2.40 g, 7.23 mmol, 1 equiv.), anhydrous hydrazine (0.68 mL, 21.7 mmol, 3 equiv.), ethanol (14.5 mL). Recrystallization from EtOH afforded 1{14} (1.88 g, 82%) as a light yellow crystalline solid. 1H-NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3): δ 8.19 (br s, 1H), 3.85 (d, 2H, J=5.0 Hz), 3.55 (s, 2H), 3.05 (s, 2H), 2.47 (br s, 8H), 2.30 (s, 6H), 2.25 (s, 3H), 2.23 (s, 6H). 13C-NMR (125 MHz, CDCl3): δ 170.7, 133.9, 133.9, 132.4, 131.6, 60.6, 56.4, 54.0, 52.5, 17.0, 16.8, 16.6.
