A mixture of 6-bromo-2-(4-chlorophenyl)spiro[chroman-4,4′-imidazolidine]-2′,5′-dione (600 mg, 1.48 mmol) and Lawesson's Reagent (596 mg, 1.48 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (25 mL) was stirred at 110° C. overnight. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was purified by preparative TLC to give 6-bromo-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-2′-thioxospiro[chroman-4,4′-imidazolidin]-5′-one (450 mg, 69%). 1H-NMR (MeOD): 2.24 (m, 1H), 2.45 (m, 1H), 6.82 (m, 1H), 6.91 (m, 1H), 7.20 (m, 1H), 7.44 (m, 5H).
