Reaction Steps
To 300 mg of N,N-dimethylformamide were added 100 mg of 1-(3-amino-2,4-difluorophenyl)-7-[(3S)-3-aminopyrrolidin-1-yl]-6-fluoro-4-oxo-1,4-dihydro-1,8-naphthyridine-3-carboxylic acid and 55 mg of p-toluenesulfonic acid hydrate. The mixture was stirred for about 5 minutes. The homogenized solution was combined with 8 ml of diisopropyl ether, stirred, and allowed to stand. The supernatant was removed by decantation. The remainder was combined with 1 ml of ethanol, heated at reflux for 2 minutes, and allowed to cool down. The precipitate was collected by filtration and washed with ethanol and then with diisopropyl ether to give 120 mg of the title compound.
