5.2 mmol of dimethoxytetrahydrofuran and 5.2 mmol of 4-chloropyridinium chloride in 100 ml of dioxane are stirred for 15 minutes at ambient temperature and then 5.2 mmol of the compound obtained in Step C are added. The reaction mixture is then heated at reflux of the solvent for 3 hours and subsequently filtered. After concentrating the filtrate under reduced pressure, the residue obtained is crystallised by trituration in ethyl ether, allowing the expected product to be isolated.
