Reaction Steps

To the solution of (1-hydroxy-1,3-dihydrobenzo[c][1,2]oxaborol-6-yl)methylmethanesulfonate (CIX) (0.48 g, 1.98 mmol) in DMF (20 mL) was added NaI (0.06 g, 0.40 mmol) and NaN3 (0.15 g, 2.38 mmol). The mixture was stirred at 60° C. overnight. The reaction mixture was diluted with EtOAc, washed with 10% aqueous Na2S2O3, brine, dried over anhydrous MgSO4, and concentrated under vacuum to give 6-(azidomethyl)benzo[c][1,2]oxaborol-1(3H)-ol (CX) (0.49 g, impure). The crude product was used without further purification for step 7.
