Compound C26 was prepared from tert-butyl[(4aR,6R,8aS)-8a-(2-fluorophenyl)-6-(hydroxymethyl)-4,4a,5,6,8,8a-hexahydropyrano[3,4-d][1,3]thiazin-2-yl]carbamate (C18) according to the general procedure for the synthesis of tert-butyl[(4aR,6R,8aS)-8a-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-6-(fluoromethyl)-4,4a,5,6,8,8a-hexahydropyrano[3,4-d][1,3]thiazin-2-yl]carbamate (C25) in Example 4, except that no chromatography was carried out on the crude product. Yield: 40 mg, 0.10 mmol, 100%. LCMS m/z 397.4 (M−1).
