Reaction Steps

To a solution of compound 2c (500 mg, 1.1 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) at 10° C., NaH (60 wt %, 44 mg, 1.1 mmol) was added in portions. The mixture was stirred for an additional 30 min and then the solution of methyl 2-(bromomethyl)-benzoate (253 mg, 1.1 mmol) in DMF (2 mL) was added dropwise. The resulting mixture was stirred at 10° C. for 30 min and warmed to rt overnight. The reaction was quenched with water and diluted with EA (40 mL), washed with brine (3×20 mL). The organic phase was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purification by silica gel flash chromatography (PE:EA=2:1) to give compound 2d as a white solid (520 mg, 79% yield).
