From benzoyl chloride and ethyl 2-(thiophene-2-yl)acetate, the title compound was prepared using a similar method to the one described in Example 1.14, Step A to give a clear oil. 1H NMR (400 M Hz, CDCl3) δ ppm 1.22 (t, J=7.07 Hz, 3H), 4.16-4.26 (m, 2H), 5.88 (s, 1H), 6.96-7.02 (m, 1H), 7.07 (d, J=3.03 Hz, 1H), 7.31 (dd, J=5.18, 1.14 Hz, 1H), 7.46 (t, J=7.71 Hz, 2H), 7.57 (t, J=7.33 Hz, 1H), 7.98-8.02 (m, 2H).
