To a stirred solution of (S)-6-(hydroxymethyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-ol (2.5 g, 14 mmol) in CH2Cl2/MeCN (1:1, 80 mL) was added MnO2 (6.1 g, 70. mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred for 16 h at RT. The solid was filtered off, and the filtrate was concentrated to afford the title compound. MS (m/z): 277.2 (M+H).
