Procedure

To a solution of the compound obtained in Example 5 (3) (3.8 mg) in methanol (0.5 ml), a 1N aqueous potassium hydroxide solution (2 ml) was added and the mixture was heated under reflux for 2 hours. After completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was poured into water, extracted with chloroform, washed with a saturated aqueous NaCl solution, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was poured into a phosphorate buffer (pH 7.0), extracted with dichloromethane, washed with a saturated aqueous NaCl solution, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was separated using silica gel preparative thin-layer chromatography (chloroform:methanol 50:1) to obtain 2.4 mg of the desired product as a white powder.
