Trifluoroacetic acid (0.25 mL) is added to a solution of 2-{2-(R)-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxymethyl)-4-[2-(5-chloro-thiophen-2-yl)-ethenesulfonyl]-6-oxo-piperazin-1-ylmethyl}-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.025 g, 0.037 mmol) in CH2Cl2(0.5 mL) at room temperature. The reaction mixture is stirred for 2 h then concentrated to dryness. The residue is diluted with CH2Cl2 and washed with saturated NaHCO3 and brine. The organic layer is dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo. The crude product (0.019 g, 0.033 mmol) is used in the subsequent step without further purification.
