Procedure
After dissolving N-(4-benzyloxy-2-fluorophenyl)-N′-(4-fluorophenyl)-N-methylurea (105 mg, 0.2881 mmol) in methanol (10 ml), 10% palladium carbon (20 mg) was added and the mixture was stirred for 45 minutes at room temperature under a hydrogen atmosphere. The catalyst was filtered off, and then was washed with ethanol, and the solvent of the filtrate was distilled off under reduced pressure. The precipitated crystals were suspended in diethyl ether, and then filtered out, washed with diethyl ether and dried by aspiration to obtain the title compound (57 mg, 0.2048 mmol, 71.10%) as colorless crystals.
