To a stirred mixture of (R)-2-(2-amino-pyrimidin-4-yl)-6-benzyloxymethyl-1,5,6,7-tetrahydro-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridin-4-one (73 mg, 0.21 mmol) in dry DMF (2 mL) were added 18-crown-6 ether (110.5 mg, 0.42 mmol), K2CO3 (115.5 mg, 0.84 mmol) and CF3CH2OSO2CF3 (0.21 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated at 50° C. for 7 hours, then treated with water and extracted with AcOEt. The organic phase was dried over anh. Na2SO4 and evaporated to yield a crude product that was purified by flash chromatography (eluant: DCM/MeOH 95:5) to provide 64 mg of the title product.
