Procedure
107 g of trimethylchlorosilane are added to a solution of 151 g of diethoxymethyl(cyclohexylmethyl)phosphinic acid ethyl ester in 430 ml of dichloromethane that contains 10% by volume ethanol and the mixture is left to stand for 3 days at room temperature, then concentrated to dryness by evaporation and distilled under reduced pressure, yielding cyclohexylmethylphosphinic acid ethyl ester having a boiling point of 50° (3×10-4 bar).
