To a solution of (R)-methyl 4-(1-(2-(3-oxo-1-tosyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrazin-2-yl)acetyl)piperidin-2-yl)benzoate (0.562 g, 1.10 mmol) in CH2Cl2 stirred in dryice-acetone bath under N2 was added DIBAL (1.0M solution in CH2Cl2, 5.50 ml, 5.50 mmol) via syringe over 15 min, and stirred for 30 min. The cold bath was removed and after 2 h MeOH (6.0 ml) was added followed by Na2SO4 (12.0 g) and sat'd NH4Cl aq. (0.30 ml). After 30 min the mixture was filtered and the filtercake was washed with CH2Cl2/MeOH (10/1). The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue was chomatographed on silica (CH2Cl2→CH2Cl2/MeOH=20/1) to yield the product. MS 482.2 (M+H).
