| Product | 7-(alpha,alpha,alpha-Trifluoro-m-tolyl)pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-3-carboxaldehyde | HCID 23329840 | — |
Reaction Steps
Five millimeters of phosphorus oxychloride is added dropwise to an ice cooled solution of 25 ml. of dimethylformamide and when this is complete 5.26 g. of 7-(α,α,α-trifluoro-m-tolyl)pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine is added and the reaction mixture is heated on a steam bath for one hour. This is poured onto ice and made strongly basic to yield the desired compound, recovered by subsequent filtration, m.p. 168°-170° C.
