Procedure

In the manner given in Example 5, 3,4-dichloroaniline, 1-chloro-2-dimethylaminoethane hydrochloride and sodium carbonate are heated in toluene to give N,N-dimethyl-N'-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)ethylenediamine.
