2,6,6-Trimethyl-1-tetrolyl-2-cyclohexene obtained according to the description of paragraph (c) herebelow was hydrogenated according to the method described in Example 18, paragraph (a). Thus, cis-2,6,6-trimethyl-1-crotonoyl-2-cyclohexene was obtained in 85-00% yield. The spectral characteristics were as follows: NMR spectrum (CCl4): 0.85 (3 H, s); 0.96 (3 H, s), 1.62 (3 H, s broad), 2.12 (3 H, d, J=5.5 cps), 1.0-2.3 (4 H, complex band), 2.95 (1 H, s broad), 5.49 (1 H, s broad), 6.25 (2 H, complex band) ppm (δ).
