2-(3,4-Methylenedioxyphenyl)ethyl 1-methylcyclopropyl carbinol [IV; Ar is 3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl, R is CH3 ] was prepared from 23.4 g. of 2-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)vinyl 1-methylcyclopropyl ketone (Preparation A3) and 3.88 g. of lithium aluminum hydride according to the procedure described above in Preparation B1, affording 18.8 g., b.p. 120°-130° C. (0.003 mm.).
