2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)ethyl 1-ethylcyclopropyl carbinol [IV; Ar is 3,4-(CH3O)2C6H3, R is C2H5 ] was prepared from 15 g. of 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)vinyl 1-ethylcyclopropyl ketone (Preparation A4) and 2.2 g. of lithium aluminum hydride according to the procedure described above in Preparation B1, affording 10 g., b.p. 148°-150° C. (0.01 mm.).
