1.7 g of 3-methoxyethoxyethoxyethylnaphtho[2,1-d]thiazoline-2-on, 2.4 g of Lawesson's reagent and 10 ml of toluene were fed into a 50 ml short-neck flask provided with a reflux condenser. The resultant mixture was heated under reflux and stirring for 2 hours. After cooling to room temperature followed by purification by column chromatography (hexane:ethyl acetate=3:1), the intended compound was obtained.
